1. first steps with Microsoft Data Analytics
The first module takes a look at the organization of data projects, outlines the key responsibilities of a data analyst and then examines the landscape of the Power BI portfolio.
2. data preparation in Power BI
This module deals with identifying and retrieving data from different data sources. You will also learn about connectivity and data storage options and understand the differences between a direct data connection and using the import functions.
3. clean, transform and load data
In this module, you will learn all about data profiling and data health. You will learn how to identify anomalies, look at the size and shape of the data and take the right steps for data cleansing and transformation. Finally, you will load the data into a model in Power BI.
4. data models in Power BI
This module teaches the fundamental concepts for designing and developing a data model. You will also learn to understand and solve many of the common data modeling problems - including relationships, security and performance.
5. create key figures with DAX in Power BI
This module introduces you to the world of DAX and the improvement of models. You will learn about aggregations and the concepts of key figures, calculated columns and tables as well as time intelligence functions for solving calculation and data analysis problems.
6. improve model performance
In this module, you will become familiar with the steps, processes, concepts and best practices for data modeling that are required for the best possible performance of a data model.
7. create reports
This module provides you with an introduction to the basic concepts and principles of report creation - including choosing the right graphics, designing a page layout and applying basic but critical functions such as cropping and filtering. The important topic of design and accessibility is also covered.
8. create dashboards
In this module, you will learn how to build compelling data storytelling using dashboards and the various navigation tools available. You will get an introduction to features and functions and learn how to improve dashboards with more views and more usability.
9. paginated reports in Power BI
In this module, you will learn more about paginated reports and how to edit them in Power BI. You will then learn how to create and publish paginated reports.
10. introduction to Advanced Analytics
This module helps you to offer further analytical insights in your reports, improve data quality and use reports for actual data analysis. You also perform advanced analysis using AI graphs to gain even deeper and more meaningful data insights.
11. create and manage workspaces
This module introduces you to the concept of workspaces - including how to create and manage them. You will also learn how to share content, including reports and dashboards, and how to make your app available to other users.
12. manage data records in Power BI
In this module, you will learn the concepts of managing Power BI assets, including datasets and workspaces. You will also learn how to publish, update and secure datasets in Power BI Service.
13. security at line level
In this module, you will learn how to implement and configure security features in Power BI to secure your Power BI assets and prevent unauthorized access.
Notes on testing and certification
The training serves as preparation for the official Microsoft exam "PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst". Passing the exam is confirmed by Microsoft with the "Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate" certificate.
The exam and exam fee are not included in the scope of the training. The exam must be booked separately on any date with the authorized exam provider Pearson Vue. The examination fee is currently 126 euros (price may vary).
The exam takes place in a supervised live online session with an online test module. During the exam, between 40 and 60 questions must be answered in a period of 100 minutes. The questions can be in different formats - multiple choice, drag-and-drop, cloze and case studies. No aids are permitted.
The questions are weighted differently depending on the level of difficulty and the effort required to answer them. At least 700 out of 1,000 points must be achieved to pass. Microsoft does not provide any information on the average pass rate.
If the test is not passed, it can be repeated. The first retake is possible at the earliest 24 hours after the first examination; for further retakes, an interval of 14 days must be observed between each attempt. A maximum of four retakes are possible within twelve months. If the examination has not been passed five times, a retake is only possible twelve months after the last attempt. Pearson VUE will charge the full examination fee for each examination attempt.
Prepare data efficiently: You import, cleanse and transform data sources with confidence.
Build high-performance models: You model data according to best practices and master DAX.
Deliver meaningful insights: You design interactive reports, dashboards and AI analyses that impress.
Share data, reports and dashboards securely: You publish content in the Power BI service, implement real-life scenarios and manage workspaces.
Certified know-how: You receive the official Microsoft training material and are thus optimally prepared for the PL-300 exam.
This training takes place as a live training training in a small group (max. 12 participants) via Zoom - with continuous trainers.
The official Microsoft course materials are used. Practical relevance and examination relevance are therefore guaranteed.
The practical exercises take place in labs - virtual environments in which all software and exercise data are provided. All you need is an up-to-date web browser.
The training includes many hands-on exercises in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service - immediately applicable, also to your own data scenarios.
Interactive demos and feedback sessions ensure maximum learning transfer.
This intensive training prepares you for the following exam/certification:
Exam: " PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst " for the
certification: " Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate "
This official Microsoft training is aimed at data professionals, business experts experts, controllers, analysts and developers developers who want to model, analyze and visualize data from cloud or on-prem sources.
