Module 1: Exploring Identity in Azure AD (optional)
This is an optional introductory module that covers the basic concepts of identity and access management with Azure AD. Here you will learn more about the definitions and purpose of Zero Trust, authentication, authorization, tokens and other identity-related topics.

This course consists of training training and is led by a trainer who supervises the participants live. Theory and practice are taught with live demonstrations and practical exercises. The video conferencing software Zoom is used.

This course is also helpful for administrator or engineers who want to specialize in deploying identity solutions and access management systems for Azure-based solutions and play an essential role in protecting an organization.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven security practices and industry-specific security requirements such as Defense in Depth, Least Privileged Access, Shared Responsibility and Zero Trust Model.
  • Familiarity with identity concepts such as authentication, authorization and Active Directory.
  • Some experience with deploying Azure workloads. This course does not cover the basics of Azure administration, instead the course content builds on that knowledge and adds security specific information.
  • Some experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and scripting languages is helpful, but not required. PowerShell and the CLI can be used in the course exercises.
