Successful Azure administrators typically start this role with experience in operating systems, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, storage architectures, and networking.
- Understanding of on-premises virtualization technologies, including VMs, virtual networks, and virtual disks
- Understanding of network configuration, including TCP/IP, the Domain Name System (DNS), virtual private networks (VPNs), firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Understanding of Active Directory concepts, including domains, forests, domain controllers, replication, the Kerberos protocol, and the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
