IBM expands collaboration with Amazon Web Services

Contents

The collaboration between IBM and AWS has already lasted several years. IBM has now announced plans to expand this cooperation. One of the goals is the implementation and use of value-adding, generative AI. Together, IBM and AWS want to offer their customers in the AI environment generative AI and thus support their customers with important applications.

The cooperation between IBM and AWS

In May 2022, IBM announced for the first time that it would offer its own services via Amazon Web Services (AWS). Almost 18 months later, the decision has been made to extend and expand this cooperation.

The expansion will primarily focus on solutions with generative AI, which will enable customers to quickly integrate artificial intelligence into business processes and IT applications.

IBM and AWS are currently planning these specific solutions, among others:

    - Contact center modernization: Amazon Connect uses generative AI to create functions for summarizing and categorizing digital interactions. This enables an exchange between chatbots and call center agencies. The goals include faster resolution times and improved quality management.

    - Platform Services: IBM introduced this offering on AWS in November 2022. Generative AI is now set to expand Platform Services. This will manage the entire cloud value chain. This includes IT operations, platform engineering and automation processes. New functions (based on generative AI) improve maintenance through intelligent problem solving and monitoring techniques, among other things. The results are a faster and more effective response to potential problems.

    - Supply Chain Ensemble: IBM and AWS are planning a virtual assistant that will provide support in optimizing inventories, reducing costs, streamlining the flow of goods and assessing risks. Meeting customer needs will benefit from accelerated and better organized processes.

IBM wants to integrate the generative AI services of Amazon Web Services into its own Consulting Cloud Accelerator. This will accelerate the transformation process between AWS and IBM applications and make it easier and more convenient for customers to use the numerous applications.

    The future of generative AI

IBM and AWS combine more than 40 years of experience in working with AI solutions. In addition to artificial intelligence in the area of customer support, the two companies are continuously developing AI models to reduce costs and make work processes more efficient.

The collaboration between IBM and AWS is expected to last for many years. IBM is a Premier Tier Services Partner with over 22,000 AWS certifications worldwide and holds 17 AWS Service Delivery certifications and 16 AWS Comeptency certifications. This collaboration is not expected to end.

Generative AI is becoming increasingly important in companies and also in the private sector. IBM and AWS are two major players in the field of AI applications. Amazon recently invested several billion US dollars in the further development of generative AI. The future of generative AI therefore lies in the hands of IBM and AWS, among others.

    Get to know generative AI

The two large corporations offer numerous applications. It is therefore important to familiarize yourself with the basics first. In our AWS Technical Essentials training , you will get to know the AWS Cloud.

With practical exercises in applications such as Amazon Identity and Amazon DynamoDB, you will take your first steps with the technological applications in Amazon Web Services. This will prepare you to delve deeper into applications from AWS, IBM and tools based on generative AI.
