Online: Software license law, open source software and license management

Basics systematically explained - simply and comprehensibly in two half days

This training is held in German.
Whether programming, using or distributing software, a solid understanding of copyright law and the principles of software license agreements is essential. This knowledge helps to avoid warnings and minimize risks when issuing licenses or audits. Effective software license management includes the ongoing review of purchased licenses and software used, including open source software (OSS). This training provides an initial insight into the open source software license compliance program in accordance with ISO/IEC standard 5230:2020 (Open Chain 2.1). It provides practical training on the analysis of license texts, end user license agreements (EULA) and IT contracts, legal conditions for OSS licenses, granting rights of use, the copyleft principle and the transfer of software as well as the legal admissibility of used software. Systematic basics of copyright law for software are also taught. The training shows which conditions are permissible in license agreements and which rights are provided for by law.
