FAQ: Your training event with Microsoft Teams
Where can I find the link to my training event?
You will find the link to your training event event in your learning environment one hour before the training event starts. You can find out how to register in your learning environment here. A countdown runs in the learning environment and in the corresponding training event until one hour before the start of the training event . When the countdown is over, you will find your link to the event room there.
Do I have to download the Microsoft Teams desktop app?
We recommend downloading the free Microsoft Teams app to be able to use all functions. You don't need a Microsoft Teams account for this either.
You can find out how to take part in your training event without Microsoft Teams Client here.
If you are unable to download the app, you can also take part via your browser. We recommend using Google Chrome or Edge (in the current version) to participate via the browser. If you want to take part in the training event via an Apple device, please note that not all functions are supported via Safari and Firefox.
I already have a Microsoft Teams account. Do I need to consider anything?
If you already have a Microsoft Teams account, please log out of your own client and try to log in again now. If you still have difficulties, please participate in your training event via the browser (Chrome or Edge in the current version).
When can I enter the event room?
You will receive the link to your training event one hour before it starts in your personal learning environment. From then on, you can join the meeting at any time. Please note that you will only meet your trainer and other participants in the room shortly before the start.
What requirements must my PC fulfill?
We recommend that you check early on, at least 2 days before your training event, whether your PC meets the specific requirements for Microsoft Teams. As a guide: The minimum requirements are an Intel i5 or comparable CPUs with at least 4 cores, a clock frequency of 3 GHz and 16 GB RAM. If in doubt, please contact your company's IT department.
The room does not open or the link does not work.
We recommend downloading the free Microsoft Teams app to be able to use all functions.
If you are unable to download the app, you can also take part via your browser.
Please close the application and delete your browser history and cookies.
Close the browser and try to enter the room again. We recommend using Google Chrome.
If you already have a Microsoft Teams account, please log out of your own client and take part in your training event via the browser.
If this does not work, please restart your computer and then try to enter the room again.
In rare cases, participation via the browser may be blocked within the company. In this case, please download the free Microsoft Teams app in advance.
How do I join the meeting with a camera and microphone?
Before you are in the room, you can switch the microphone and camera on and off. You can see exactly how this works here in the video.
I'm in the room but I can't hear anything.
Please check whether the correct output media are set. You can do this in the menu bar under **"More actions" > "Device settings "**. You will find the menu bar either at the top of the screen or in the middle of the screen. Make sure that your headset is already connected and stored as an output medium in your system settings.
I am in the room but cannot use all functions (e.g. chat).
Some companies have not allowed all Microsoft Teams functions on company laptops. Therefore, ask your IT department in advance whether there are any restrictions and whether these could be suspended for the training event .
Is the training event recorded?
The training event in Microsoft Teams is not recorded.

Tips for the optimal online training event
- Make sure that you can take part in your training event from an undisturbed location so that you can concentrate fully on your training.
- Take part in your training event via a desktop PC or laptop/notebook. Participation via cell phone or tablet is not possible or only possible to a very limited extent.
- We recommend Google Chrome as the browser for participating in your training event.
- Prepare your place: Have paper and pens ready for notes and make sure you have drinks.
- Do the system check early on, ideally at least 2 days before the start of your training event. If there are internal company settings that restrict access to your camera, for example, your IT department can support you in advance.
- Connect your headset and your camera (if you are participating with a desktop PC) and set these as output media in the system settings before you enter the event room.
- To avoid distractions and disruptions and to increase connection stability, please close all applications that access the Internet, such as apps, mail programs or VPN clients.
- For a stable Internet connection, we recommend using a LAN cable.
- Before you enter the event room, delete the cookies in your browser.
