Leadership Between Humans and AI

For over two decades, she built businesses before transitioning to research—with the conviction that those who only research have never truly lost; those who only act never see the pattern. She conducts research and teaches at the Munich Center for Digital Sciences and AI (Munich University of Applied Sciences) on human-agent teams and leadership architecture, including her AIDE model, which views AI maturity not as the introduction of tools but as work on the organization’s operating system. Her focus: How can leadership remain effective when systems no longer merely execute decisions but actively help shape them?

With 25 years of experience working in and with organizations—building leadership cultures, developing programs, and, most recently, grappling with the question that won’t let her go: How is AI truly changing the way we work, lead, and remain human with one another? She is a member of the board of directors at Virtual Identity AG, chairs the Digitalization Commission of the Senate of the Economy, and serves as a mentor for women in leadership. Her focus: What does AI actually mean for the people who make decisions every day, bear responsibility, and provide guidance?

Sarah Rojewski has taken an unusual path into the world of AI: As a humanities scholar, she built one of the first chatbots at Telefónica Deutschland in 2016. For nearly ten years, she served as the manager of AI & Automation there, overseeing conversational AI and automation, building new teams, and guiding AI transformations. Since 2024, she has been self-employed and is one of Germany’s most sought-after keynote speakers on the topics of AI, people, and change. She is a co-host of the “Reboot Society” podcast and shares future-oriented skills with her community of over 100,000 followers on social media.
