The WaldHaus Freiburg focuses on the forest, its multifunctional benefits, and its needs. Among other things, the foundation works to raise awareness among schoolchildren about the environmentally sustainable use of the forest.
By bringing together regional expertise in a dynamic way, the WaldHaus offers a unique program: hands-on environmental education—to ensure a future worth living.
Nature, climate protection, and diversity: the WaldHaus offers exciting programs for children and teens centered around these topics.
The forest education programs for schoolchildren are particularly diverse. They can discover themselves through their connection to the forest and nature.
Through our partnership, we are promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for students in Freiburg and the surrounding area. The focus is on educational programs for young people with specific needs or from challenging backgrounds.
Sensory experiences inspire
This allows students to experience the forest and nature up close through multi-day school programs, vacation camps, project weeks, or shorter modules lasting several hours in the forest.
In total, the support provided by the “ Haufe Akademie ” reaches approximately 500 students annually at the WaldHaus.
