Labor migration law - online

Legal framework and legally compliant practice

This training is held in German.
The recruitment of foreign employees is becoming increasingly important against the backdrop of the frequently lamented shortage of labor and skilled workers, not least due to demographic factors. The existing regulations in this respect are actually straightforward, but are becoming more complex due to the fact that, on the one hand, both national and international legal bases must be observed, which are intertwined and must be taken into account, and, on the other hand, there are numerous links between labor migration law and "normal" immigration law as well as labor, tax and social security law. This makes it difficult to understand the subject matter without practical experience. In addition, numerous changes to the substantive and procedural regulations came into force when the Skilled Immigration Act came into force on March 1, 2020. With the Act on the Further Development of Skilled Immigration passed in summer 2023 and the accompanying Ordinance on the Further Development of Skilled Immigration, further new regulations of labor migration law will now successively come into force and must be observed. Against this backdrop, the aim of the event is to provide an overview of the legal basis and the existing possibilities for employing foreign employees and to illustrate this with practical examples.
