Risk and claim management are among the most important and at the same time most demanding methods for successful project management. In this training , you will learn how to identify and analyze your project risks and transform them into opportunities, claims and/or change requests using appropriate measures. You will identify the prerequisites for successful risk and claim management and learn how to handle risks, opportunities and claims professionally.
Contents
Based on the Project Management Institute (PMI)® standards, procedures are taught for identifying, analyzing, planning and monitoring project risks as well as for enforcing and defending claims. Focus: 60 % risk management, 40 % claim management.
Risk and claim management in the project
- Clarification of terms: risk, opportunity, claim, change request.
- Prerequisites for successful risk and claim management.
- Risk management process and risk categories.
- Consider risk and claim management in the project organization.
Identify project risks and claims
- The SWOT analysis.
- Methods for identifying risks and claim potential.
- Analyze and formulate project requirements.
- Draw up clear contract wording.
- Determine the goals in claim management.
- Define a successful claim strategy.
Risk analysis and prioritization
- Different methods (qualitative and quantitative) for risk and opportunity analysis (linking probability of occurrence and impact).
- Classify, evaluate and prioritize risks and opportunities.
Risk measures and handling of claims
- Define and implement measures to avoid, reduce and transfer risks.
- Formulate claims appropriately.
- Handling difficult claim situations.
- Monitor and manage risks.
- Negotiate risks and claims with contractual partners.
