In this training , competencies are developed in a targeted manner, as the professionalism of purchasers is increasingly determining the success of the company. Global, risky markets, complex supply chains and increasing competitive pressure require purchasers to exploit cost and revenue potential and increase the value contribution of purchasing to the company's success.

This further training course was designed in cooperation with the Mannheim University of Applied Management Sciences and meets the university's quality standards in terms of overall concept, content, trainers and examination. As a result, participants benefit from high-quality qualifications with guaranteed topicality, high practical relevance and excellent trainers.
Recommended procedure

As part of the course, 2-3 seminars must be completed (including 1 compulsory seminar and 1-2 elective seminars) as well as an e-exam. The total duration of the course is 5 seminar days.

Mandatory seminar: Strategic Purchasing Management (3 days)

  • Initial situation, framework conditions for strategic purchasing.
  • Practical tools for developing purchasing strategies.
  • Overview of purchasing strategies and options for action.
  • Insight into purchasing controlling.
  • "Marketing" your own performance.
  • Establishment of strategic purchasing.
  • Practice your own concept and develop elements of your own purchasing strategy.

Choose either one two-day or two one-day elective seminars

  • Managing suppliers professionally (2 days).
  • Fit for the future with e-procurement (1 day).
  • Conducting difficult purchasing negotiations with confidence (2 days).
  • Purchasing control (2 days).
  • Price and cost analysis in purchasing practice (1 day).
  • Framework agreements in purchasing: Managing delivery and price risks (1 day).

E-test

The e-exam is an online exam taken on a PC/laptop. It takes approximately 1 hour. After passing the e-exam, a certificate from Haufe Akademie HdWM will be issued based on the exam results.

The total duration of the course is 5 days. You decide when and where you want to complete each course module (in person, live online, or a combination). However, we recommend that you attend the compulsory module "Strategic Purchasing Management" first. In addition to the compulsory seminar, choose either one 2-day seminar or two 1-day seminars.
