The rulings of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) and the Federal Labor Court (BAG) have made vacation law an increasingly ongoing topic in recent years. At the beginning of 2023, the BAG refined its case law on the obligation to cooperate and once again commented on the parallel expiry of vacation entitlements. Taking into account the current case law, the training conveys the interplay of statutory and collectively agreed provisions. The focus is on the change in working hours and working days as well as the effects of illness, maternity leave and parental leave on vacation entitlement. In addition, the various expiry periods and the topic of compensation for vacation entitlements are also covered.
