Final examination
The "IPMA® Level D" course for initial certification consists of an e-learning course (already included in the participation fee) and six seminar days. The e-learning must be completed before the seminar days begin. For higher certification, only the six seminar days need to be attended.
The final examination is not part of the certification course and is not included in the price. The examination is arranged and billed directly with PM-ZERT, the GPM certification company.
The examination fee for higher certification is currently € 520 plus 7% VAT, for initial certification € 699 plus 7% VAT. The examination fee is not included in the course price. Reduced prices apply for students and GPM members.

FAQ
There are no formal admission requirements for IPMA® Level D at the GPM, neither for the participation in training nor for the examination. However, it is definitely advantageous to already initial have some practical experience in project management .
TheIPMA® Level D training course is aimed at individuals with initial practical experience in the project environment and provides you the necessary basic knowledge, to work in a structured and work in accordance with standards and the (optional) to successfully complete the certification. You will be introduced to the content step by step and receive a realistic assessment of how you can prepare yourself professionally for the optional certification.
The IPMA® Level D certificate proves that you the fundamentals of project management according to an internationally recognized standard. ..
A recognized project management certification increases your visibility in the job market and signals to employers that you approach project work in a methodical manner. It helps you to clearly distinguish yourself from those with informally acquired experience and to objectively demonstrate your competence, especially when changing roles or taking on more responsibility, both internally within the company and externally when applying for jobs.
The time time required for further training is approximately 60 hours, which is divided as follows: 12 hours of e-learning + 6 days of classroom-based seminar or training
For final projects and exams for IPMA® Level D certificate , you should also allow for approximately 30 to 60 hours of individual preparation time (report, studying, exam).

There are either two written exams lasting 90 minutes each or one written exam (90 minutes) plus a report (approx. 25 pages).

If you already have the basic certificate (GPM), the exam is reduced to a 90-minute written exam.

In the IPMA® Level D certification process, you will take one or two written exams (90 minutes each), depending on the path you choose. The exam is online by the GPM certification body, PM-ZERT, and assesses your project management knowledge.

You will learn what content is tested, how to prepare systematically, and how to handle exam situations with confidence. If you fail individual parts of the exam, you can retake them within 18 months of your admission for a fee. Each part of the exam can be retaken once. The exact costs can be found in the current fee schedule.
If you are still unable to successfully complete the certification process after retaking the exam, you can reapply for certification after twelve months.

The training is highly practice-oriented. You will work with realistic project situations – such as project launch, coordination with stakeholders, or dealing with risks and changes.
Note: BFeel free to bring your own practical project examples with you. This you can apply what you have learned directly to your current or future projects and immediately connect theory and practice.
When you receive an IPMA® certificate, it is valid for 5 years. In order to continue using it after that, you must recertify in good time.
The PM-ZERT checks whether you have gained sufficient relevant professional experience since your last certification to extend your certificate for another 5 years. The requirements vary depending on the level and focus and usually consist of project experience and further training.
