FAQ
Successful process optimization begins with a structured assessment of the current workflow. In this training, you’ll learn to systematically document, visualize, and analyze existing processes step by step. In doing so, you’ll examine, among other things, types of value-added activities and waste, interfaces, and potential areas for optimization. Using a clear approach, you’ll be able to develop, evaluate, and prioritize appropriate measures. This will enable you to improve processes in a transparent manner, with a focus on process quality, costs, and lead times.
Weaknesses often arise from inefficient processes, problematic interfaces, unnecessary steps, or other forms of waste. In this training, you’ll learn to methodically examine existing processes and systematically analyze possible causes. Using the Ishikawa method, for example, you can examine the causes of errors in a structured way. You’ll also learn to identify types of performance and waste within the process. This will enable you to assess more precisely where improvements make sense and which measures should be prioritized.
Clear process visualization creates transparency and makes it easier to understand workflows and dependencies. In this training, you’ll learn about two important standards for representing processes: EPK and BPMN. You’ll explore their areas of application, advantages and disadvantages, and the most important symbols. You’ll also learn how to choose the appropriate level of detail. This will enable you to visualize processes clearly and create a solid foundation for process analysis and process optimization.
Interfaces are where different process steps, roles, and areas of responsibility intersect. It is precisely at these points that delays, coordination issues, or unnecessary effort can arise. In this training, you will learn to systematically analyze interfaces and assess their significance for the overall process. This will enable you to identify areas with potential for optimization and determine which improvement measures are appropriate for a more efficient workflow.
When analyzing and improving processes, it is often helpful to bring together the knowledge of various stakeholders. That’s why this training course will also teach you the basics of facilitating workshops. This includes questioning techniques, roles, and the appropriate structure and flow of a workshop. This will enable you to incorporate relevant perspectives in a structured way, collaboratively identify opportunities for improvement, and address specific issues from your day-to-day work in a more targeted manner.
