What characterizes a climate-neutral company?
Climate-neutral companies try to reduce or offset emissions so that a balance of sustainability is restored. Greenhouse gas emissions can also be offset through climate protection projects. In order to become a climate-neutral company, the CO2 balance sheet, in which all emissions are recorded, is crucial. These emissions are caused by various factors. The ecological footprint can be used to calculate how climate-neutral and environmentally conscious an organization is. Measures that can be taken to promote climate protection include
- using and expanding renewable energies
- Increase energy efficiency to reduce energy requirements
- Rethinking mobility: preferring video chat and rail travel to business trips by plane
HR management in particular plays a pioneering role in the conception and implementation of a climate-neutral company.
The path to becoming a green company
Coming close to the ideal of a green company: The transformation of an organization into a green company affects all parts of the value chain. It requires a high level of commitment from the company management and a clear will from all those involved. To achieve this, clear framework conditions must be created for all employees - including HR management - and communicated clearly. Only then can the goal of a green company be achieved.
