Questions and answers from the training "Leading and moderating virtual and hybrid meetings efficiently"
What is the difference between live meetings, online meetings and hybrid meetings? Is a meeting not the same as a meeting?
Live meetings are classic meetings. All participants are in the same room and everyone also hears the non-verbal reactions of the others. In online meetings and telephone conferences, none of the participants are in the same room as the meeting leader. There is therefore much more potential for misunderstandings and more active involvement by the meeting leader is essential. Hybrid meetings are a mixture of online and live meetings: some participants are together in the meeting room, others are connected online or via telephone.
What needs to be considered for mixed meetings?
In hybrid meetings, it is important to respond to both the participants in the room and those who are connected. Moderating means ensuring that all opinions and skills can be effectively incorporated into the overall solution in order to achieve the best possible overall result and thus make efficient use of everyone's time. Especially in mixed meetings, this means actively involving all participants, verbalizing what is going on in the room and ensuring visualization and transparency.
What is a key insight from the training?
- Good preparation is essential and can be done quickly.
- Technical hurdles can be largely avoided with a few tricks.
- Active involvement of all participants, visualization and documentation is the key to a sustainable meeting result. (You can find out how this can be done in practice in the training)
What do the participants learn or practise in the training?
The training covers all meeting phases, starting with preparation and the question "Do I even need a meeting?". Tools and techniques for each meeting phase, especially for use in online and hybrid meetings, are practiced. Likewise, dealing with difficult situations, visualization and the use of conference technology are trained using situations from the participants' everyday work - so that the application in everyday work is easy after the training .
Do I need to have or use special software?
No, you do not have to use any special software such as Teams, WebEx, Skype, Zoom, etc. In preparation, it is helpful if you familiarize yourself with the software used in your company. You will have the opportunity to practise with your computer and software during the training , so there is no need to "relearn" after the training .
Who should attend the training ?
Anyone who conducts hybrid or online meetings using tools such as Skype, Teams, WebEx, Zoom etc. and wants to achieve results quickly and in a targeted manner.
