Power workshop: Conflicts, solutions, and body language
Resolving Conflicts Instead of Interpreting Body Language – Coaching with 2 Communication Experts and NEW: AI as a Sparring Partner
The language of the body
- How does your posture affect others, and what does it trigger?
- Why a Face Doesn't Reliably Reveal Emotion: The Limits of Interpretation:
- How can you listen actively and respectfully—with your ears rather than just your eyes?
- A spark or a bucket of water: Which of our own signals calm the situation, and which cause it to escalate?
- Keep Your Cool: Relaxation Techniques—and Use the Other Person’s Cues as an Opportunity to Ask Questions.
Self-perception - how we appear
- Mirror or Window: What Does Your Body Reveal When Your Mind and Emotions Want Opposite Things?
- Be aware of your own body language, especially in conflict situations, and recognize inconsistencies between what you say and how you act.
- Learning Through Feedback Sessions: What Are We Communicating? What Actually Gets Through?
- What is the subject matter, what is your goal, and in what capacity are you speaking? And what is observation, and what is interpretation?
- Practical exercises: Defusing conflicts with clear language and an appropriate attitude, including the use of Rosenberg’s nonviolent communication.
Making Empathy Effective
- How do you build bridges: by taking someone’s perspective or by asking about their perspective?
- Build trust through questions, attitude, and active listening.
- Remain convincingly neutral and appreciative.
AI as a Sparring Partner in Conflicts
- Preparing for conversations: Use AI to clarify the content, objective, and role, and assess how far a conflict has already escalated.
- Look beneath the surface: Identify the potential concerns and needs underlying the positions—as hypotheses that you test during the conversation.
- Observation Instead of Judgment: Have AI review your own notes for interpretations and translate accusations into “I” messages according to Rosenberg.
- Practice without risk: AI plays the role of your counterpart—you practice paraphrasing, reframing, and the steps involved in mediation.
- Stay Critical: Where AI helps, where it falls short, what information you’re better off not entrusting to it—and why it can’t read body language for you.

Questions about the seminar content
Specialists and managers, in particular, are often under pressure when they have to guide or persuade others despite resistance. In this training, you’ll learn to recognize early on when a conversation is shifting and what signals play a role in that shift. This will help you use your own posture, gestures, and facial expressions more consciously, so that you don’t unintentionally escalate the situation but instead convey a sense of direction and calm.
In moments of conflict, it’s not just what you say that matters, but also how you stand, look, breathe, and react. That’s why, in this training, you’ll reflect on the effect your body language has on others and the signals you might be sending without realizing it. Through self-awareness exercises and feedback, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of whether you’re projecting openness, pressure, defensiveness, or confidence.
Conflicts often arise not only from differing opinions, but also from perceptions, unspoken expectations, and nonverbal cues. A glance, a closed-off attitude, or a failure to listen can already be interpreted as rejection. This training you better understand such dynamics and uncover the underlying causes of conflicts, so that you don’t just react to the symptoms.
In this training, you’ll practice maintaining physical and mental balance, even when the person you’re interacting with reacts with tension or hostility. This includes relaxation techniques, active listening, and a conscious approach to facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice. This will allow you position your position without resorting to justification, aggression, or withdrawal.
In everyday professional life, it often happens that a statement, a glance, or a posture is interpreted differently than intended. This is exactly where the training comes training . You’ll learn to align your self-perception with how others perceive you. Through intensive feedback sessions, you’ll recognize which signals others actually pick up on and where your intention doesn’t match the impression you make. This will help you make your communication more precise, credible, and persuasive.
AI can’t replace a conversation or intuition. But it’s a powerful sparring partner: It helps you organize your thoughts, translate accusations into clear “I” messages, and practice a difficult conversation in advance as often as you like, without anything at stake. In the workshop, you’ll try this out using your own situation and also learn about its limitations: AI only knows what you tell it—including your own interpretations. That’s why the same rule applies here: describe, ask questions, and verify.
