Human resources: Tasks and objectives
Human resources management is just a term for the synonyms HR Management, HR management or human resources management - or in short: Human Resources. Regardless of the size of the company, every company must perform HR tasks for legal reasons alone.
The main objective of human resources consists of the following two components:
- Economic contribution to the company's success,
- employee motivation based on the needs of the employees
This results in an important task for the HR department: finding and retaining qualified top performers; keeping personnel costs low by reducing absenteeism and fluctuation. The following disciplines of HR tasks are derived from this: recruiting, personnel planning, personnel controlling, personnel development, personnel communication, personnel management, remuneration management.
Operational HR work - the framework
Operational HR work is accompanied by legal framework conditions and internal regulations. The implementation of operational HR management primarily includes HR administration tasks and the processing of administrative procedures. These include: personnel policy advice to the management, cooperation with the works council, recruitment, coaching, mediation, contract and salary design, regulations and processing, dismissals and other contract termination procedures, references and individual personnel measures.
Due to the diversity of these HR management tasks, a basic knowledge of HR Management or a refresher course is essential. This basic knowledge covers the organization and tasks of an HR department.
