The ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard creates a binding framework for the responsible use of artificial intelligence for the first time - and places new requirements on auditors. In this 4-day training training course, you will become a certified specialist for audits of AI management systems (AIMS). You will learn how to systematically audit an AIMS, assess requirements from ISO/IEC 42001, analyze risks and incorporate ethical principles. The training provides you with in-depth knowledge of audit principles, methods and tools - based on ISO 19011 - and enables you to plan, carry out and document audits independently. In numerous practical exercises, you will develop checklists, conduct interviews, assess conformity and formulate audit reports. The optional exam to become a certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor rounds off the course and qualifies you for a leading role in AI governance and compliance.

The training content is based on the official PECB examination specifications.
Requirements:
To participate in this training, we recommend general knowledge of AI systems, AI management systems and ISO/IEC 42001.
- You will be able to independently plan, carry out and document audits for AI management systems in accordance with ISO/IEC 42001.
- You will gain in-depth knowledge of the standard and AI-specific audit issues - from governance and bias to security.
- You will receive practical training in all audit phases - including interviewing, evaluation, reporting and follow-up.
This training training is conducted in a group of a maximum of 12 participants using the Zoom video conferencing software.
The training combines theoretical concepts and practical examples and allows you to go through the entire auditing process using case studies.
The course contains many scenario-based exercises and multiple-choice tests that are very suitable for exam preparation.
This course is conducted in German. The official course materials are not available in German and are therefore provided in English.
The "PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor" exam meets all the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). It covers the following areas of competence:

- Area 3: Basic audit concepts and principles
- Area 4: Preparation for an ISO/IEC 42001 audit
- Area 5: Conducting an ISO/IEC 42001 audit

If you choose an exam language that is not your native language, you will be given an additional 30 minutes.

This training is aimed at auditors, ISMS or AIMS managers, compliance and data protection officers, AI project managers and consultants who are responsible for or carry out audits in the field of artificial intelligence. The training also offers internal auditors and members of ethics boards a sound qualification for assessing AI management systems.
