2. Develop AI agents on Azure
Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly powerful and accessible, and AI agents are a key part of this trend. This module helps you understand AI agents, including when to use them and how to create them using Microsoft Foundry Agent Service and the Microsoft Agent Framework. By the end of this learning module, you will have the skills needed to develop AI agents in Azure.
3. Develop natural language solutions in Azure
Natural language solutions use language models to interpret the semantic meaning of written or spoken language and, in some cases, respond based on that meaning. You can use Microsoft Foundry to develop AI apps and agents that can analyze text, transcribe and synthesize speech, and translate languages.
4. Gain insights from visual data in Azure
Use generative AI, computer vision, and content understanding capabilities in Azure to gain insights from visual data, thereby supporting scenarios such as:
- Image Analysis
- Image and Video Generation

Requirements:
- Knowledge of Python
- Experience using APIs and SDKs to develop agents and generative AI solutions on Azure
- Identify core AI capabilities, appropriate developer tools, and the necessary processes for the responsible development of AI solutions within Microsoft Foundry
- Exploring and evaluating AI models using the model catalog, benchmark metrics (quality, security, cost, performance), and manual and automated approaches to performance evaluation
- Create generative AI applications, such as chat apps, by selecting endpoints, authentication methods, and client SDKs, and by using APIs such as Responses and ChatCompletions
- Optimizing model output using prompt engineering techniques (system messages, few-shot learning), fine-tuning, and anchoring language models with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Develop and deploy AI agents using the Microsoft Foundry Agent Service, extend capabilities with custom tools, and integrate them into applications such as Microsoft 365
- Solve knowledge-based problems by configuring data sources (e.g., Azure AI Search, SharePoint) for knowledge databases and connecting agents to real-time information via Foundry IQ
- Implementing multi-agent solutions by understanding various orchestration patterns, using the A2A protocol, and controlling workflow execution using nodes and conditional logic
- Providing specialized generative AI models for advanced tasks, including speech recognition and synthesis, content understanding, image and video generation, and document intelligence
This course consists of training training and is led by a trainer who supervises the participants live. Theory and practice are taught with live demonstrations and practical exercises. The video conferencing software Zoom is used.
This course is designed for software developers involved in the development, management, and deployment of AI solutions based on Microsoft Foundry.
